We’re your hosts, Sean & Lindsey Cheney! We live in San Luis Obispo, CA (also dubbed “The happiest town in the USA”). We started SLO Cal Stays because of our love for hosting celebrations, gathering loved ones together, and creating memorable experiences for our guests! We designed and built Black Barn Ranch with the goal to share it with others, designing our home and the Barn Loft to accommodate guests. We enjoyed hosting vacation rental guests so much that we bought another property nearby in 2022, Edna Estate, to be able to share with more of you! After 6 months of full time renovations on the 100+ year old home, we welcomed our first guests!
We’re both small business owners & serial entrepreneurs; Sean has a local business in the home improvement industry as well as a municipal exterior lighting company and Lindsey does design consulting and runs the day-to-day operations of SLO Cal Stays with Sean’s help.
San Luis Obispo is an ideal vacation destination – it’s the perfect meeting point between the Bay Area and L.A. We are home to wine country, beautiful beaches, incredible hiking trails, and the cutest downtown! Our guests visit for a variety of reasons: weekend getaways, girls trips, college and family reunions, bachelorette parties, corporate retreats and wedding parties. We can’t wait for you to experience our amazing town!

Yes, pets are allowed at select properties. However, please note that pet policies may vary depending on the property. At one of our listings, pets are not allowed. At another listing, a maximum of two pets is permitted, while at the remaining two listings, only one pet is allowed. Please refer to the individual property descriptions for specific pet policies.
